April 19, 2018 I bought 2 batteries off of eBay from a seller who was selling 'OEM' batteries for about $45 (Check for yourself, theres lots of sellers). Compared to OWC's $99, I thought it was a steal. I'm a firm believer in 'you get what you pay for' but seeing that 'OEM' buzzword plastered all over the ad gave me that gooey, warm, happy peace of mind feeling. Long story short, the batteries I purchased were crap. The seller/ company did have excellent customer support, I'll give them that, but their product sucked.
The batteries took about 5hrs to fully charge and would only last about 3hrs tops. Not to mention the battery would drop from 40% to 7% instantly. BOTH BATTERIES! So I went back to OWC, bought this battery you're reading the review for.
I should have done that from the get-go. I was a little worried when I took the battery out of its packaging because the build quality felt exactly like those eBay batteries. Cheap plastic, nothing like the battery that initially came with my MBP, sorry OWC. This battery I purchased performs on par with the original battery, maybe better. I strongly recommend this product!
